Huge potholes that have plagued an east end road and caused a safety risk for drivers are set to be fixed at last - much to the relief of residents. 🏙 Glasgow City Council Updates
Early Braes Park in Garrowhill is flourishing as a wildlife haven thanks to a Glasgow City Deal project that reduced flood risk and enhanced the natural environment, with water voles thriving, frogspawn spotted for the first time, and volunteers building hibernacula, managing meadows, and planting trees to support biodiversity. The Council’s deep clean teams continue to be busy all across the city including in Dennistoun, Cardonald, Summerston and Battlefield, cutting back over growth, removing weeds, lifting grime and clearing stubborn litter. Glasgow City Council

A £10.6m funding boost from Transport Scotland will support a wide range of sustainable transport projects across Glasgow, including new walking, wheeling, and cycling infrastructure, and upgrades to pedestrian spaces. This includes £3.8m in ATIF Tier 2 funding to deliver four major active travel projects: Connecting Woodside (St George's Road), Connecting Yorkhill and Kelvingrove (Phase 1), Flourishing Molendinar (Phase 1), and the Dumbreck Road Active Travel Link. An additional £4.9m from ATIF Tier 1 will fund smaller, localised projects such as Phase 5 of the East City Way, which will now move to construction. It will also support design work for Connecting Greater Govan, as well as future phases of Flourishing Molendinar and the East City Way. Full story here

Day of Action Targets Illegal E-Bike and E-Scooter Use in Glasgow City Centre
This week, Glasgow City Centre Community Policing Team carried out a dedicated day of action to tackle the illegal use of E-Bikes and E-Scooters in the city centre.
As part of the operation, officers seized five illegally adapted E-Bikes and one E-Scooter. Several offences were also reported in connection with the misuse of these vehicles.
A police spokesperson said: “Our officers are committed to keeping our roads safe for everyone. We will continue to carry out enforcement and education to ensure compliance with road traffic laws. Please familiarise yourself with the law to avoid penalties and contribute to a safer Glasgow.”
Man Mown Down in Targeted Car Attack
Police are appealing for witnesses after a 22-year-old male pedestrian was hit by car in a targeted attack in Milton.
Officers received a report of a a disturbance involving three vehicles and a male pedestrian on Ashgill Road on Monday at 6.55pm
The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Police said it is believed to be a targeted incident and there is no wider threat to the public.
Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances and a police presence will remain in the area.
