Glasgow City Council's bin hub trial comes under fire

Overflowing bins have become a flashpoint of frustration for residents of Haghill, who say their streets are blighted by waste, vermin, and fewer parking spaces.
At a meeting held by Dennistoun Community Council on Tuesday, residents voiced their discontent over the bin hub system introduced by Glasgow City Council around 18 months ago. What was meant to streamline waste collection has, they argue, caused chaos and unsightly streets.
“An Eyesore and a Hazard”
A Marwick Street resident reported making complaints for five consecutive days about overflowing bins outside her window, initially with no response.
“Overnight, the area has been ruined by these bin hubs," she said.
