Foul-Mouthed Graffiti Slams Council on Battlefield Street!
Angry messages demand action on crumbling pavements, with one brutal spray-paint plea saying, ‘Fix this s***'

Expletive-laden graffiti hitting out at Glasgow City Council over the state of a pavement has been spray painted onto city streets.
Potholes and defects were circled and angry messages daubed on Lochleven Road, Battlefield.
One message stated ‘inaccessible for disabled and elderly people’ while other phrases sprayed on the roadside were far more blunt and to the point - with one simply saying 'fix this s***'.
Another asked for the curb to be dropped, while another stated ‘f*** the council’. Most of the graffiti has now been removed after the council sent out a power wash team.
A council spokesman said: “It should be noted that the council invests substantial resources to enable and assist members of the public in raising their concerns over the condition of roads and footways, including the improvement of historic roads for use by those with mobility challenges.
“Anti-social graffiti such as this simply diminishes the resources available to respond to those concerns and is unnecessary.
“In such cases, we will inspect and assess any roads and footways in the city as quickly as possible, and act accordingly if maintenance and repair is necessary.”
An annual roads infrastructure report, published in November last year, revealed the city’s roads needed an extra £8.5m per year investment just to keep them in their condition at that time.
It stated almost £23m was being spent on the city’s road network, but nearly £31.5m was required to maintain a “steady state”.
Satisfaction with maintenance of roads had fallen to the lowest level since 2011 (12%) while there had been a rise in public pothole reports to over 21,000, the report added. It is produced to inform the council’s budget setting process.
When a budget for 2025/26 was passed in February, city treasurer Ricky Bell, SNP, said an additional £20m would be invested in the upkeep of roads, cycle lanes, pavements, parks and open spaces.

Why is the money received in parking fines not ringfenced to fix the roads and pavements? GCC need lessons on housekeeping. Bring in the old Glasgow mammies who used to keep the home going on their husband's wage packets . There are still a whole lot around.
